The Husted Kicking approach is simple; present basic kicking fundamentals, introduce position specific strength and mental training exercises, allow for you to maximize your potential. We educate student-athletes, pro prospects, parents and coaches at high school, college and professional levels through kicking lessons and kicking camps.

We believe that there is not one person who knows everything about the kicking game either inkicking lessons and kicking camps . We believe that we are all unique puzzles in search of the right pieces to make us complete. You should learn from as many people as possible so that you can filter out what isn’t a fit for you and retain the best information that will help you to reach your potential.
At Husted Kicking, you won’t find us claiming every person that has attended one of our kicking lessons and kicking camps as our student. We won’t take full credit or brag about how many scholarships or free agent contracts we have helped athletes secure.
We believe that many people are involved in those processes and our goal is to be a positive factor. The pros and cons of playing at the greatest sport’s highest level has taught us humility, provided us with solid contacts at all levels, and has helped us develop a path to share with others.
Husted Kicking looks to engage in relationships that will last a lifetime. If you are just learning to kick, punt or snap, we want to get you started off on the right “foot” so that you can compete at the high school level.

ABOUT MICHAEL HUSTED:
Michael is a retired 9 Year NFL Kicker. Michael’s consistency on field goals and power on kick offs won him the job as an undrafted rookie. Michael went on to have a successful rookie season where he was named to Football Digest’s All Rookie team.
During his time with the Tampa Bay Bucs, Michael established several records including:
- All time leading scorer (502 pts.)
- Longest field goal (57 yards)
- Most 50+ field goals (10)
Michael attended the University of Virginia. During his time with the Cavaliers, he was the kick off specialist during his first and secomd seasons. He then handled all kicking duties his third and fourth seasons.
During his fourth year campaign, he connected on 13-16 field goals and was named a Lou Groza semi finalist. Michael also had a total of 95 touchbacks during his college career, the most in UVA history.
In high school at Hampton High School in Virginia, Michael played in three state championship games, winning two with the Crabbers.
Michael earned several awards during his high school career:
- Parade All American Honorable mention (Senior year)
- First team All State Kicker (Senior and Junior years)
- First team All Region Kicker (Senior and Junior years)
- First team All District Kicker (Senior and Junior years)
After his NFL career, Michael was involved in an online start up, iPlayers.net in 2005. This innovated site at the time took high school recruiting from “snail mail” to the internet. In 2007, the company was acquired by the Active Network in San Diego, CA. After working in the “corporate” world for a couple of years, Michael realized that one of his passions was helping athletes to leverage their sport for a college education.
Since that time, Michael founded the National Camp Series. This platform objectively measures kickers, punters and long snappers through it proprietary Kicking IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System. This takes out all subjectivity in the evaluation process.
